Optus has brought on two new senior marketing managers, appointing former Vodafone executive Hugh Humphrey to the newly created role of managing its enterprise mobile offering while Jim Jaques is now marketing director of the company's consumer business.
Jaques has 20 years of consumer marketing experience with roles at organisations including the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Bell Mobility Cellular and Visa International. He replaces Anthony Hearne, who has moved on to Virgin.
Before Hearne, the role was held by Michael Smith, who is now managing director of Optus consumer. Smith said Jaque's appointment had arisen off the back of a "intenseive global search".
"Jim is a talented 20 year veteran of marketing and sales (and) coupled with an impressive blend of Australian and international experience and a proven track record, I am delighted to have Jim on board and excited by the prospect of taking our business to new heights," Jaques said.
Humphrey, who played a pivotal reole in developing the Vodafone Business One brand, was hired on the back of his "wealth of experience in the mobile industry and a strong executive leadership track record covering sales, marketing, HR and strategy", said John Simon, managing director, Optus Enterprise and Business Group.
“Hugh will be responsible for managing an integrated sales and product marketing function within Optus Business enabling greater focus," Simon said.
