Communications Day editor Luke Coleman is leaving the title to take on the new role of media relations manager at Huawei, as deputy editor
Petroc Wilton takes over Coleman's position at Decisive Publishing.

The title has also appointed Geoff Long as its first Melbourne
correspondent, due to the amount of telco news that takes place in the
city, the home of Telstra's headquarters and NBN Co's technical
division. Long was previously a contributor for CommsDay and has worked
as a technology journalist for publications such as the Bangkok Post
and Tele.com Asia.

After nearly three years at CommsDay, Coleman said it is now time for him to take on a new challenge. He
finishes his role at Decisive Publishing on February 26th and will
start at Huawei on March 1st.

"Huawei is certainly one of the more exciting companies in the telecom industry, both because of the
NBN and geopolitically because of Australia's relationship with China.
I think it'll be a unique opportunity," he said.

"I think in the last three years, I've learned the media game quite intimately,
like the friendships I've developed with other journalists and dealing
with media relations people all day. I have a good feel of what they do
right and what they do wrong, so hopefully in the new role, I'll be
doing a lot of the right stuff."
