Adobe Systems has appointed Julie Cleeland Nicholls and Andy Sommer to
the Asia Pacific communications team in a bid to extend the company's
media presence in the region.

Cleeland Nicholls has been appointed to the newly-created role of senior group manager, corporate
communications for Adobe in APAC, reporting to Mark Phibbs, Adobe’s
director of marketing for the Asia Pacific region.

Sommer, who becomes the corporate communications manager (reporting to Cleeland
Nicholls), will be responsible for PR, executive and employee
communications and Adobe’s social media strategy in Australia and New
Zealand. He will work closely with the ANZ marketing team to support
and enhance marketing and business strategies.

“These appointments will allow Adobe to connect more effectively with the
press and the online community in Asia Pacific,” said Mark Phibbs in a
statement.

With over 18 years marketing experience, Cleeland Nicholls brings significant expertise to a newly created role. She is
charged with heading the company’s efforts to boost its presence
through traditional and new media channels in Adobe’s key growth
markets of South East Asia, Greater China, India, Korea and ANZ. Prior
to joining Adobe, Cleeland Nicholls spent over three years at Sun
Microsystems initially as senior communications manager for APAC before
specialising in the emerging markets division. She will be based in the
Adobe Singapore office.

Meanwhile, Sommer brings over ten years PR agency experience both in Sydney and London and within a technology
environment. He previously worked with Spectrum Communications on an
array of global brands both nationally and internationally including
Google, YouTube, Intel, Acer and Teradata.

“Julie will be joined by Andy Sommer who will provide on the ground support initially
in Australia and New Zealand while also working with the local
marketing team. Australia is one of the largest markets for Adobe in
Asia and we’re pleased to be able to further resource our efforts there
through the addition of Andy to the team," Phipps said.
